College / Development

College is like a continuation of high school...

Community colleges are very affordable and have a variety of different schedules to fit your hours. You can attend a community college and get a 2 year technical degree that is much much cheaper than going to a technical school that charges thousands of dollars.

Plus some employers will laugh if they see you spent all this money on a technical school, like ITT technical institute for example, because you can do it cheaper through your community college!

Because community colleges have all sorts of certificate programs. Plus employers like to see that you went through a regular junior college and took all the general education(GE) classes.

You can still get a good job, and employers will still hire you with a technical degree from a technical institute, but you can do it for so much cheaper through a community college.

A lot of employers like to see the college degree over a technical institute degree, because a degree from a technical type of institute is not recognized by a state board of education.

A community college is definitely recognized by any state's board of education.

It is important to check and see if the school you are going to attend is recognized by the board of education in your state. If your not sure just ask the school and they will tell you.

Universities...

If your interested in going to a university and getting a 4 year bachelor degree you can get started at your local community college.

While going to a community college, you can can ask your counselor what classes are needed to be taken, to be able to transfer to a University. If you don't want to continue to a university after junior college, you can always just settle with your 2 year degree, and go back at a later date, to get a 4 year degree completed at university.

To transfer to a university you will need to take university level classes and get the highest level grade point average(GPA), in order to be accepted to a university. The higher your GPA, the better chances you have of being accepted to a university of your choice.

You can always settle with the 2 year degree from your local community college if you are not interested in continuing on to a University for another 2 years to make a 4 year bachelor degree.
